Applied the Multipart to Singlepart (Explode) geoprocessing tool in ArcGIS Pro to convert multipart polygon features into individual single-part polygon features. This process created separate records for each disconnected polygon part within the original multipart wilderness features.

Manually assigned correct Unit # identifier to each individual wilderness polygon following the explode operation. Unit numbers were assigned based on Death Valley National Park's internal wilderness management unit designation system to differentiate between the main Death Valley Wilderness unit and the two potential wilderness areas.
